Washington’s program is built on other existing similar models in California, Oregon and British Columbia while specifically tailoring the GHG targets to meet goals set by the State’s Department of Ecology. PineSpire has extensive experience and expertise with these programs, from registration to revenue.
What is a CFS?
A Clean Fuel Standard is a carbon credit system in which high-carbon fuel producers and importers (like oil and gas companies) buy carbon credits that are created by low carbon fuel users (like electric fleet owners and EV charging station owners.) This carbon credit marketplace effectively creates a revenue stream for fleet owners that incentivizes low carbon fuel investments and literally creates revenue every time you charge your electric fleet.
Who Can Participate?
• Electric Equipment Owners: forklifts, pallet jacks, truck refrigeration units, and cargo handling equipment.
• EV Charger Owners: Vehicle chargers that are publicly accessible or used to charge your commercial vehicles (like company cars and trucks).
• Other Low-Carbon Fuel Generators, like makers of renewable hydrogen and biofuels.
All of these are eligible to generate carbon credits that can be monetized!
